The Smartrack S5 D-iD is an insurance S5 approved vehicle tracking system that uses a revolutionary mobile app Driver Recognition System instead of ID tags.
The app can be used in 2 modes Manual or automatic:
Manual Mode – When set in manual mode and you drive the vehicle, an alert will be sent via a push message to your mobile device. If you are driving the vehicle no action needs to be taken. If there is a security issue with your vehicle, you must contact the Global Telemetrics Control Centre by calling them or contacting them directly from the app. Simply open the notification, press SOS and you will be immediately put in touch with a member of the Stolen Vehicle Recovery team.
Automatic Mode – Before driving, ensure you open the app to the home screen This allows the verification process to begin between your mobile device and the system fitted to your vehicle. The system will generate an alert if the app is not active in the background on your mobile device. If the Mobile device has been left at home, has no signal or the battery is flat the Global Telemetrics Control Centre will contact you or any approved contacts on your account to confirm the status of your vehicle.
