Frequently Asked Questions

What is meant by DSP processor?

Digital Signal Processors (DSP) take digitised real-world signals such as speech, audio, video, temperature, pressure, or location and mathematically adjust them. They are connected to your OEM stereo through the speaker cables and eliminate factory sound-shaping, resulting in a clear output. The signal is then sent to the external amplifier(s). Your front and rear speakers, as well as your subwoofers, are powered by the amps. A DSP will be required to obtain a high degree of precision in your car. Once a DSP is installed, you have complete control over your audio system, including the ability to alter equalisation, crossover points, and time alignment.

Why is DSP important for car audio?

Digital signal processing is critical because it significantly increases the overall value of hearing protection. DSP, as opposed to passive protection, also reduces noise without interfering with the voice stream.
