Frequently Asked Questions

What is a coaxial speaker?

Coaxial speakers for cars are automobile speaker systems that incorporate all of the components – a tweeter, woofer and a simple crossover – into a single framework. Unlike inexpensive single-cone speakers, most coaxials have a woofer cone with a separate tweeter for superb full-range sound quality and frequency coverage.

What is the difference between coaxial and component speakers?

The key difference between coaxial and component speakers is the position of the tweeter and additional external crossover. The tweeter is situated in the centre above the woofer cone in coaxial speakers, which combine the mid-bass and tweeter into one speaker. Component speakers, on the other hand, do not have a tweeter and are detached from the woofer so that it can be positioned elsewhere.
